Rakuten Trade offers different ways to trade on Bursa Malaysia. You can apply for more than one account when you trade with us thereby allowing you to activate different trading strategies for different accounts.
This means that your trades from this account are fully funded by the deposits you make into your cash upfront account while the remaining balance is placed in a Trust account held by Kenanga Investment Bank. We accept cash deposits into your account via Internet Banking. With a Rakuten Trade Cash Upfront Account, you can trade on Bursa Malaysia, U.S. Markets and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Trades can be done in MYR or USD/HKD.
Why Open A Cash Account?
- 1 account to trade on Bursa, US and Hong Kong.
- Trade based on the available cash you have now.
- Trade and pay brokerage rates from as low as RM1/ USD1.88/ HKD35.
- You will always know your actual cash/portfolio position.
- Choose to trade in MYR and/or USD (US Market) or HKD (HK Market) via the same FAMILIAR platform.
- Competitive exchange rates when you convert MYR to USD/HKD and vice versa.
- Available MYR cash balance will earn interest at 1.75% per annum.
- (Exclusive to US) Real-time price feed for U.S. Market.
A Contra Account is like a charge card. This means that you are extended a spending limit based on the share(s) and cash placed as collateral and the shares you intend to buy but you are still required to fully settle your transaction(s) within two days.
At Rakuten Trade we try and do things differently and our contra trading platform is exactly that.
Why Open A Contra Account?
- Trade up to 5x more than the money you have in your account.
- Trade and pay brokerage rates that are the same as Cash Upfront Account.
- Access to the Day Trade Rebate Program.
- Available cash balance will earn interest at 1.75% per annum.
- Settlement of transaction (either earned or payment to cover loss) is only required 2 days after the transaction (T+2).
- Don't miss another opportunity. Trade using your extended trading limit and settle it later.
